In 2018 Pilot launched it’s own line of creative art tools for the consumer market called Ensō. An Ensō is a hand-drawn circle created by an artist in one fluid, expressive stroke. My concept for the branding of Ensō was to create a signature stamp like many Japanese artists use to sign their own work and using that stamp as a flag to signify which Pilot products are Ensō products. The target market for this line was creative amateurs who wanted quality products to produce their work. The packaging artwork relied on Japanese aesthetics, keeping things simple while showcasing artwork the product can do as well as something achievable at any artistic level. This was not the final design to move forward into the consumer space.
